SPITFIRE- The Journal of the Spitfire Society

SPITFIRE logo

SPITFIRE is the name for the journal of the Spitfire Society. The original name (D.C.O.) derived from the practice of RAF pilots initialling the paperwork after each flight with D.C.O.- "Duty Carried Out". It has now been renamed in order to reflect the changing face of our membership, away from the dominance of wartime personnel that has ineviteably happened with time.

At present 2 issues are published each year, covering a range of areas of interest to members, outlining major Society activities, and boasting an active correspondence section.

The cover picture for this issue is a beautiful air-to-air shot of the Israeli Air Force Mk IX.
